Chilhowee Soaring Association is a commercial operation situated on a 2,600 grass runway and offers two tow planes, instruction, rides, and rentals.  Chilhowee (92A) is located approximately 35 miles NE of Chattanooga TN. This positions the field on the eastern edge of the Tennessee River Valley and just west of the Great Smoky Mountains. This location historically yields abundant summer thermals and good ridge when the wind is from the west. In addition to soaring, the local area offers hiking rafting, and sight seeing in the Smoky Mountains .
