In Memoriam for Dudley, 1-08-02

The Eagle and I

So calm and quiet, high in the sky;
Together we soared, the eagle and I.

Our wings outspread, smooth and free
The two of us have seen things
That many men will never see.

In a day all blue, sunny and bright,
Together we shared the challenge of flight,
The sunset came, all red and gold,
I headed home with a sigh.

Deepest feelings can seldom be told;
But we know: The eagle and I.
