The 2009 1-26 Championships will be held June 24-July 1 in Moriarty, NM hosted by the Albuquerque Soaring Club. Practice is June 22 & 23 and the Banquet is July 2nd. Bob Hudson, their President, is our contact this year. He will be have registration information for you soon on the website as well as in the next newsletter. This is a place where you REALLY, REALLY want to fly. In 2005 we had speeds in the mid-50 mph for 3 hour task and had to be very careful not to bust class A airspace. Get your oxygen system ready! Mitch Hudson will be our CD!!! He is a local 1-26 pilot that is known to many of you. He knows the 1-26 and the local area. He is presently on loan to the Air Force.
